Jack grew up in the Somerset Hills of N.J. Although primarily horse country and home to the United States Equestrian Team, Jack focused much of his attention on multiple sports and he enjoyed success in them from an early age. By high school, Jack was captaining both his football team and soccer team. He raced competitive motocross and played every sport under the sun. Jack's friends would often affectionately compare to him the young phenom "Sport Billy" from the television cartoon classic because of Jack's ability to play most any sport well. From track and tennis to waterskiing, surfing or snowboarding, you name it, Jack did it well. Out of this array of sports, golf became Jack's passion and from the beginning he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and understanding with others. In fact, sharing his knowledge was so important to Jack, he would even stop to help his fellow competitors on the range at United States Amateur Qualifiers.
Jack's mother, now retired, has had a huge influence on his life. For over a quarter of a century, she was a highly regarded and respected educator as well as a "Teacher of the Year"! Jack believes, it's from his mother where he learned to love and value communicating with the direct intention and clear purpose of helping others. Jack's father was also a huge influence on his life. After running for governor of New Jersey in the 1970's, the decorated Force Recon Marine Captain became one of the worlds most highly sought after international attorneys. Prior to his success in business and the law, Jack's father was instrumental in constructing the building housing New Jersey's largest law school, Seton Hall. It was here, Jack's father was elected the school's first Editor in Chief and named a Dean the very day he graduated. Jack believes his unfailing desire, ambition and indefatigable spirit comes from his father.
Jack credits his family and friends for his positive outlook on life and is grateful for the inspiration they have provided.
Jack graduated from college enjoying much success in his senior year, witnessing his Alabama Crimson Tide win the National Championship in New Orleans. Jack was then off to the University of Oxford, England in pursuit of post graduate studies. Following Oxford, Jack became a yacht captain based primarily in south Florida and throughout much of the Caribbean. His travels led him to distant shores and around the globe. Additionally, Jack has handled and continues to handle luxury real estate for one of the worlds largest privately owned real estate companies. Jack is a television producer and has co-hosted the wildly popular television series Golfing The World which has broadcast to millions of households around the United States and around the world. It was when fan mail began to arrive that Jack truly felt humbled by the experience. A major daily newspaper went so far as to say, all the response has made him a bit of a local celebrity. Although flattered by the comment and recognition, Jack's thinking was, "Now that's certainly using the term "celebrity" loosely!"
(To be clear, Jack does not consider himself to be a celebrity and says the thought of it is silly and life should be lead with a full dose of humility. Jack credits any attention and fanfare he received, to the draw of some of his amazing co-hosts, such as Miss Nevada and other award winning broadcasters.
With a sport as popular as golf, finding a succinct, recognizable and available company name can be challenging. Therefore, the amusingly immodest and rather tongue in cheek name "Celebrity Golfer to the Stars" was suggested, encouraged and adopted.)
During Jack's time with the Golfing The World television series, he came in contact with Mark Frost, author of the book The Greatest Game Ever Played (click). Jack and Mark shared thoughts back and forth for more than a year, trading ideas about how to get this movie idea the green light in Hollywood. Jack produced, directed and starred as Francis Ouimet in the short period piece film Magical Dreams, intended to increase viability and create a thirst in Hollywood for this compelling, historic and true story. The movie ultimately received the green light by Disney and Jack was invited to Montreal to get together with Bill Paxton (Apollo 13, Titanic, etc...), the films director, and continue putting together pieces to the puzzle. Through scouting for locations and script work, Jack and Bill became fast friends. Bill would continue to refer to Jack as his "kindred spirit". The movie became a success in Hollywood and is now a classic in the golf world.
